The Man in a Case

Anton Chekhov wrote a short story titled "The Man in a Case." It featured a man as you might expect. His style of dress kept him closed off from the world as did his apartment, which featured a bed surrounded by curtains. The man was miserable most of his life. He had a brief love affair but it ended shortly before he died. They placed him in the coffin and his friend remarked that he had never seen him look happier.

My day began with someone dying in a cubicle. It wasn't on my floor and it wasn't anyone I knew. Someone died in a cubicle today and I find that to be horribly depressing.
