May your days be merry and bright...

This temp job was only supposed to be 1 month, but they kept extending it until finally they had to let us go. I'm not sure they planned for it to be a week before Christmas, but I'm nonetheless amused by the timing.

Truth be told, Ceridian was one of my better temp jobs. Most of the people were nice and I got to listen to podcasts while I did mindless tasks. Plus, free coffee.

DC United Holiday Card

Just got mine in the mail, so that means I can finally post it. Ben Mahler was kind enough to contact me about doing a holiday card for DC United.

He included this storyboard to go off of:

Initial sketches:

And the final design with images arranged by Mr. Mahler:

I think the Ceridian paper adds to the menacing agent from the Matrix.

Johnny Cash at The Pug

Hopefully all those caricature studies paid off. That and the hella expensive year of art school. According to Mr. Mahler, this should appear in the Pug's window, a local watering hole of the DC variety, as part of a bar crawl. The theme was dead people and I got Johnny Cash. You can't beat that.

Professor Charles Wilson

I believe Ben requested this nearly 2 years ago. Hope it was worth the wait.

Professor Charles Wilson of St. Olaf College - I bookended my college education with his classes and I only regret not taking more.

The Glorious Percussion Armada

All this because I drew a 5 minute sketch of Ben during a show.

Ben Cook-Feltz and the Glorious Percussion Armada will be playing in Cedar Falls on October 3rd.

Unstoppable

You can only slow him down.

And it seems a torn tendon in the ol' bicep is the culprit this time. Good luck with the surgery, Terry. Hope to see you back on the water next year.

How I Run

I find it amusing that EVERYONE is under the impression that my running in the morning is done in jeans, a flannel shirt, and crappy shoes. The crappy shoes are the only truth to the matter.

Remember these things? I don't know why I love drawing Hellboy so much.

Man on the Run

I've started getting up early to go for a run before work. I think I made the mistake of actually trying to run instead of that soft shoe shuffle known as jogging.

Hobgoblin

Ah, my precious crowquill, how I've missed you.

Watched The Spiderwick Chronicles and I've had hobgoblins on the brain ever since.

Royal Crown Cola

Here's to Ben Mahler for sending me this video that captures our personalities so well. Bird number two to follow as soon as I can manage.
