Art Vandalay at Aster Cafe
Art Vandalay has a CD release show coming up in the new year and was kind enough to ask me to a poster for it. The Aster Cafe is a nice little spot to drink a beer, eat a flatbread pizza, and listen to some excellent music. Check it out.

Jon Stewart
Doodling while watching The Daily Show - I know it's part of his persona, but every now and then, Jon seems genuinely depressed about what he reports on.

A very rough sketch in photoshop of a Holiday card I had in mind with Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Check out the website to see the final version.

The Wizard
I was experimenting with some new brushes in Photoshop but needed a project try them out on. This started out as just a doodle, so the perspective is a little wonky.

Madison Episode V
My niece is 5 today. It seems only fitting she should spend it on the planet Hoth. Happy Birthday, Madison.
I'll try to add some color to this later.

Here we go again
I have been drawing. I promise. Just not posting as regularly as I used to. I'm going to try to throw up what I can. It may not always be pretty, but of course, I seldom am.

Book of Eli
Best scene from Book of Eli features a fight between Denzel Washington and a fat man in a gas mask, rubber overalls, and wielding a chainsaw. After that, the movie tends to go over the top.

bicycle.
Been doing a lot of pen and brush sketches in this tiny sketchbook I've had for years to loosen me up and also break in a new brush pen. Added some color for Illustration Friday.

a close shave.
One dark morning, I grabbed my razor thinking it was my toothbrush.
Fortunately, I realized my error before anything happened.

Comics Comics
A couple of commissioned comics:
I was asked to do a 3 panel strip for PC Solutions to depict the "bad" tech guy who uses overly complicated language to confound clients.
And another comic for 3 Things & Something Else focusing on the American Education System.

Something Blue
"I've looked around enough to know that you're the one I want to go through time with."
My Valentine's Day gift for Lisa. On March 3rd, we celebrated 4 years together and I actually managed to surprise her with a ring containing a blue sapphire and a not so unreasonable question.

at least there's a view.
Started doodling a stump, then added a jar to sit atop. How sickeningly poetic. Wallace Stevens or Sylvia Plath influence? Or just memories of sitting in a cubicle, happy to be in an open area for a change.

Spidey-Sweater
I'd wear this entire ensemble, given the opportunity. When I was regular commuter on the 6 bus downtown, I'd see a guy in Carhart coveralls and red ski mask that had a spider-man likeness scrawled on with a sharpie. He earned my respect that day.
