Jonathan Edwards
I've been following Jonathan's Edwards' blog, an illustrator based out of the UK. He has a fantastic style with thick, jagged lines that I can't get enough of.

i hate you, trumpy.
Today is Ben Mahler's golden birthday. This post has to do with his favorite episode of MST3K featuring murderous aliens hatched from eggs, poachers from the renaissance festival, and a rock band that goes camping.
Welcome to your 30s, Ben. It stinks.

The Seussification Of Romeo and Juliet
Been meaning to get back to some Illustrator work. A poster for The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Edit: I have added a watermark to the image due to several counts of people taking the image, cropping it, and using it for their own purposes. If you are putting on a production of The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet and need a poster, then contact me for the image.

ZOMBIES
Just finished the Walking Dead compendium - 8 volumes of pure zombie goodness. I just wish they had a similar format for the rest of the series since I'm now stuck buying the hardcovers.
And a random face from the old sketchbook. I switch back and forth between red and blue lead. Usually good for drawing over old sketches.

Audrey II
A sketch from my lunch break - the plant from Little Shop of Horrors.
Edit: I have added a watermark due to a couple instances of theft. If you wish to use this image, please contact me.

Illusion Comic
I've worked in a variety of different roles at the Illusion Theater for about the past 7 years - Box Office, House Manager, Administrative Assistant, and now...Comic Artist.
Michael Robins, the artistic director for the Illusion Theater, asked if I would contribute comics as a part of his new blog Three Questions and Something Else. The regularity of my contributions is at the whim of Michael but do expect more in the future.
You can view a direct link to the comic post here.

Ben Cook-Feltz & You
I did a poster for one of Ben's shows a little over a year ago. Recently we met for beers to talk about the possibility of doing a CD cover for his latest album. The image is the result.
Ben gave me an advance copy of the album, which I recommend everyone checking out. It should be available for download at some point in the future. I'll be sure to provide a link when it does.

Here's to my Star Wars Nerd of a niece.
My niece, Madison Cassady Luke Skywalker, is 4 years old today.
I made a similar post for her last year.

What I do in my spare time is business.
Whenever there's down time at work (which happens a lot) I raid our dump bin where we chuck shirts and hats we messed up on. Typically they're used for practice or just cleaning up messes. Anyway, these are the results.
Scary clown hat, as always, with Emily in mind.
This is actually the reverse side of the clown hat. It had a name and a lacrosse ball, which I covered up with black and made into an eye.
And a red skull hat. The word is CRACKED. Unfortunately, the seam of the hat runs directly down the center of the skull.

Happy Birthday, Austin!
My nephew, Austin, is now 1 year old today and on Free Comic Book Day no less. I had intended to give him a volume of Popeye cartoons, but I couldn't resist the first volume of Bone in full color.
I used the tutorial at the Big Time Attic Blog for getting that old-timey effect.
